Have you ever felt that you are too young to have back pain?
Do you ever worry about the spinal health of anyone in your family?
Do you think old age is synonymous with growing shorter and having a slouchy spine? It doesn't have to be.
If you answered yes to any of these questions and want to learn more you should come to our parent ed meeting. 4/5 graders as well as Ohlone alumni children who are able to sit through an 1.5 hour talk.

Alignment and Balance:
Jean Couch and a team of her teachers from the Balance Center have volunteered their time to come to Ohlone to spread their knowledge of the physics of flesh and bone. Jean has studied communities of people who have a very low incidence of back pain and grow into their old age with straight strong spines. There are some key differences between the way these communities stand/sit/walk in comparison to what we do. Jean will show you the difference between the way they grow old with vital healthy spines and in contrast to the spines in our culture which have a 90% incidence of low back pain. By the end of the talk, you will get the chance to be aligned and feel the difference too. You can read more at about Jean and her work at www.balancecenter.com.
